Brian Papke

local founder and developer

Prior to joining The Establishment Group, Brian was a Principal and the Design Lead for Capital City Real Estate, a development company in Washington D.C.  He is no stranger to designing and constructing on challenging urban infill sites to make for successful projects. He worked on a variety of projects in the West Michigan, including opening a new restaurant, and now Brian is excited to now be the Local Founder in his hometown – Grand Rapids, MI.

Brian describes himself as a “why-guy – always digging to the root/priority of any decision-making process. This helps give purpose and meaning to his decisions made through the development process. His values and beliefs are centered around the concept that life is short and everyone could use a little inspiration. His intention is to “die a worn-out, tired, twisted but still inspired old man” and you can tell by his work ethic that he means it.

Design and problem-solving is truly his passion and has been since the start. He is a University of Michigan alum with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and a Masters in Architecture. When he’s not drafting new project design concepts or meeting with city planners, you’ll find him spending quality time with his wife and three kids or trying a new sport. Most recently it has been – running.

Brian has followed in the footsteps of his father who was also an Architect turned Developer. Growing up in the business and being determined to have a positive impact on every project he touches, makes him an amazing asset to the Establishment Group team.

We create special, boutique communities where your life happens. Where you care about your neighbor like your grandparents used to. Instead of building a mega-apartment-complex, we build multiple boutique buildings. We invite and connect all of our residents and amenities into one, shared urban community. We do this because we care about you getting established in your community. We care about you having pride where you live. And we care about you engaging with your neighbor in a more meaningful way.
